  • Credit & Collections Specialist

    The Credit & Collections Specialist performs the following functions under direction of the Credit Manager.

     

    Job Description

    • Reviews aging and initiates collection efforts verbally or in writing.
    • Regularly monitors account exposures and aging accounts and determines the action to be taken on delinquent accounts, such as putting account on hold.
    • Communicate with management the need for liens or legal action when applicable.
    • Performs account reconciliation, manages and resolve deductions and chargebacks.
    • Review and release accounts based on credit standing.
    • Responsible for all credit activities for assigned accounts as it relates to company policy.
    • Maintain accurate credit and collection files and collection notes.
    • Handles all incoming calls from customers and sales department regarding past due invoices, billing discrepancies and all other credit related inquiries.
    • Process credit card or check by fax payments.
    • Requests prelim information from customer and process new job prelims.
    • Provides material release as requested by customer.
    • Regularly communicates and coordinate with Sales Department to facilitate collections.
    • Prepare for and attend meetings regarding the aging and work center.
    • Provide coverage for other credit analysts when they are out of the office.
    • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

     

    Job Requirement

    • 3+ years of experience in commercial credit and collections.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Requires the ability to multi-task and solve problems.
    • Positive work attitude and enjoy working in a high pace environment.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Knowledge of JD Edwards preferred, but not required.
    • Knowledge of construction industry credit requirements helpful but not required.
    • Knowledge of California Preliminary Law, releases, etc. helpful but not required.
    • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationship with internal and external customers.
    • Perform the duties and job requirements as listed above in an ethical and professional manner and perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Salary

    Pay may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills and experience.
